Openprepper seeks to establish an open-source preparedness community centred around a set of open-source self-sufficiency projects.
Why do we need to prepare?
There are many reasons to prepare including natural disasters, blackouts, supply chain disruptions, war and even government recommendations. We believe that our civilisation cannot continue along this path much longer. All past civilisations have failed - and ours seems to be headed in bad directions. Warning: this subject can be difficult for your mental health, please seek support if you are affected. For more information, see Wikipedia, Limits to Growth and r/collapse.
Why open-source?
None of us can effectively prepare on our own. The traditional image of a loner hoarding guns and beans in a cabin in the woods is not useful. Humanity's greatest strength is our ability to cooperate, collaborate and share. A lot of collaboration will be the formation of local communities centred around the production and sharing of food. Openprepper seeks to augment this via sharing intellectual property in a way can only improve the situation for everyone.
